HISTORY
In 1982, four concerned Christians came together in Boston to pray for individuals facing crisis pregnancies. Their prayers led them to create an organization that could tangibly support these women and Boston Center for Pregnancy Choices was founded as a Massachusetts nonprofit corporation.
On April 6th, 1984 our first office opened in Harvard Square with a simple goal in mind: to help individuals make informed decisions about unplanned pregnancies, and to provide support after those decisions were made. Since the beginning, we have served a diverse clientele in a wide variety of situations and circumstances. From those first days, our volunteers, donors, and board members have been indispensable to our work.
In 2015, we relocated our office to its current location on Lincoln Street in Boston. Over these past few decades in our new location, we have greatly expanded our services. We now offer pregnancy tests and ultrasound referrals, options counseling in person and via hotline, and a Moms in Training Program. We are able to provide abortion recovery support for men and women and have established a Flourish Mentoring Program for women who have chosen parenting or adoption. We have a Baby Boutique to meet the material needs of the parents we support, and in recent years, we have further developed our facility, remodeling our Baby Boutique and building out our medical space.
